Coinbase Pro Launches New Mobile App for Android Users

The end of 2019 brought with it the Coinbase Pro app for all iOS users, a luxury that Android users now get to enjoy as Coinbase announced the release of the app for the Android platform on January 7th.

The Coinbase Pro app is a Coinbase product designed for mobile users in mind, offering a light, easy-to-use, simple trading experience for the on-the-go trader. Much like with the iOS app, the Coinbase Pro application on Android provides traders with over 50 trading pairs, allows them to make deposits and withdrawals of both crypto and fiat from the app, and access their account via passcode authentication.

Because this is the pro version of the application, traders also have access to the features they need to succeed, including real-time candles and price updates, depth charts, and order books, all at the same fees that they would encounter if they were using the web application for their trading needs.

According to product manager Linda Xie, as stated on the announcement on their Medium blog for the product launch, the Coinbase Pro app has been quite successful:

“Since the launch of the Coinbase Pro mobile app in October, it has become clear that our customers want to trade on the go. In just over eight weeks, we’ve seen hundreds of millions in trade volume via the mobile platform. Through the app, these trades are also taking fewer steps and less time for the user to execute compared the desktop experience.”

These developments also come in the wake of less exciting news for Coinbase, especially for their Coinbase Wallet application, which is facing scrutiny from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store due to the nature of decentralized applications and the services they provide.

Regardless of these issues currently facing Coinbase, the Coinbase Pro app release, which is now available on all platforms for current customers, is an exciting step towards making trading friendlier for both new and experienced investors.
